Overview

Two of the wealthiest cities in the Bay Area, Belvedere is an island-like  appendage off the Tiburon peninsula with incredible views of San Francisco, Angel Island, and Mt. Tamalpais.  Belvedere has a lovely playground which draws families from all over, and Tiburon's tennis clubs, yacht clubs, parks, bike paths and wildlife sanctuary,(www.TiburonAudubon.org) , movie theater (www.cinemawest.com/tib) and shops have members from both communities.

Other Points of Interest:

Tiburon and Belvedere have a thriving recreation department, and some wonderful parks and fields--Tiburon's Blackie's Pasture is one of Marin's most scenic parks, and the shoreline trails stretching from Blackie's Pasture to the tip of Point Tiburon are beloved by recreational users from all over.

The historic China Cabin, a 19th century seaside saloon, is located in Belvedere. Ferries to Angel Island, as well as San Francisco, leave from the Tiburon ferry terminal. (www.ggt.org and www.redandwhitefleet.com)

Tiburon's Main street & Ark Row has several lively restaurants for view dining, as well as appealing cafes, boutiques, jewelry shops and a few offices and services.

The Tiburon Loop is a favorite with local cyclists due to its low traffic and highly scenic surroundings. The back (east facing) side of the Tiburon peninsula is densely wooded, very quiet, and feels a world away. Many bikers take a refreshment break at the cafe or park near the southernmost point of Pt. Tiburon- where Tiburon Blvd and Main Street/Ark Row meet.

WeatherTiburon & Belvedere share a maritime Mediterranean climate. They see the fog rolling in through the Golden Gate. Being on the water, temperatures are moderate; it never gets very cold. Tiburon and Belvedere residents say it has the perfect microclimate for those who love temperate weather.
